Yang and Yin lines

Do we really know anything? What, exactly?

Sorry, we can’t answer these questions without feeling a great emptiness. And that’s why I love the I Ching and all Chinese wisdom. I Ching, also known as the Book of Changes, sees life as a dance of yang and ying lines.

The Yang line is solid, and is projected endlessly. When one says, “there is no limit for knowing”, one is referring to this line.

The yin line, on the contrary, is broken and has a gap, a empty space. That’s why we can’t grasp knowledge entirely. The “formula of everything” should be written with uncertainties & mysteries. Because there always will be misteries we don’t understand.

Welcome to the Poetry of Not Knowing!

P.S. I was very touched when I read the post The Power of Not Nothing, written by the poet Robert Peake. His words have become an inspiration to me.
